2012 Land Rover LR4 Part 2

As a continuation of the previous article, buyers who don’t need the LR4’s formidable off-road or 8 cylinders might consider BMW X5 or Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Another good option is getting a smaller and more affordable Jeep Grand Cherokee or more reliable Lexus GX 460. But if you truly seeks for a powerful and well-appointed SUV which is capable of inciting a measure of boulevard envy and handling occasionally, the Land Rover LR4 is an ideal choice.

The 2012 Land Rover LR4 is offered in a single trim level with standard features which include 19-inch aluminum wheels, leather upholstery, heated exterior mirrors, eigh-way power front seats, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, keyless ignition/entry, fixed rear sunroof, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power tilt-and-slide front sunroof, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio and 11-speaker stereo with touchscreen control, two US ports, in-dash CD changer, iPod interface and an auxillary audio jack.

The optional HSE package also adds different 19-inch wheels, third-row seats, folding mirrors, front parking sensors, rear-seat climate control, LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera, music server and hard-drive-based navigation system with voice control and real-time traffic. The HSE LUX package tacks on Climate Comfort package with adaptive bi-xenon headlights etc.

2012 Land Rover LR4

According to Edmunds review, The 2012 Land Rover LR4 is an ideal choice for a luxury SUV because it offers off-road chops on top of great interior and powerful engine. However, it has weight hampers acceleration and just average fuel economy, quite unreliable sometimes and mediocre when it comes to on-road handling. It has upgraded and improved audio and navigation systems.

The hallmark of this 2012 Land Rover is the rugged off-road prowess mixed with impeccable English luxury.  The company considers this mid-pack model as a “go anywhere in style” which is a good choice for few individuals.

The 2012 Land Rover LR4 is a stout performer when it comes to off-road credentials. The power of its 5.0-L V8 and the features of Terrain Response System, Hill Descent Control and available locking rear differential will make it convenient to navigate even for novice drivers.  This model is also well suited to jobs and delivery because it’s quite spacious.
Meanwhile, when considering a 2012 Land Rover LR4, the real decision is based on whether or not you really need all of the aforementioned off-road capabilities because these features has its own drawbacks. Fuel economy greatly suffers and there might be some spotty reliability.

2011 Peugeot 508

This new 2011 Peugeot 508 is created to recapture the major portion of France and to replace Peugeot 407 and 607. The car size is just in between 407 and 607. The range-topping 508GT can compete in the same league as fancier European metal like the Volvo S60. It offers better specification and more affordable too.

The interior of this car model has undergone a lot of changes. The interior quality, tactile surfaces and switchgear have improved and is a lot better compared to previous Peugeot model. The new steering wheel-mounted buttons replaced the old cruise control and audio control. It also has Nappa leather in different hues. Dash plastics become softer and doors are trimmed in a soft leather-like vinyl. Gear selector, leather-bound steering wheel, and other key touch points have significant improvement.

It has become more comfortable over the years. The seating position up-front is somewhat high with plenty of headroom. Peugeot also got the pedal/wheel relationship right with 508. Both font seats are powered and heated in the GT, and also feature a massage function. The rear bench is comfortable and roomy, yet wide enough for three adults to ride in comfort. Overall, peugeot parts have evolved and 2011 Peugeot 508 is definitely a good car of choice.

1978 – 1981 Triumph TR8

The wedge shape TR7 received a powerplant last 1978. The reliable Rover V8 appeared instead of a V8 unit which spreads like a Triumph Stag. With new V8 tucked under the bonnet, the TR8 became known as “English Corvette” which reflected the fact that the car was sold primarily to the North American market.
Twins Zenith-Stromberg carburetors fitted to the early TR8’s but suddenly replaced in early 1980’s with a Bosch L-jetronic fuel injection system with a Lucas fuel injection (ECU). The twin carburetor reached 133 bhp at 5000rpm mark. Fuel injection improved this further to a respectable 148 bhp and torque at 7.7 seconds.

The TR8 was improved upon TR7 in several areas including the brakes, axle ratio, alloy wheels, and trim. The estimated TR8’s produced during that time is 2500 to 3000. It also includes coupe wedge shape and better looking cabriolet.
The wedge shape was intended to have a targa roof. Most of the work of Harris Mann during that time was compromised due to cost-cutting and the reputation of the car he designed was badly accused of poor quality build. Luckily, the TR8 V8 engine restored its respectability and makes this version of the TR8 shape the most desirable.
