Basic Car Parts

Air filter – it is a device used to reduce the concentration of solid particles in an airstream. In car engine system, it filters the dirt so that it can’t enter the engine.

Air intake manifold – It is the car part that distributes air flow into many tubes that lead to different engine cylinders which helps in the circulation of airflow. Air is also distributed to combustion chamber.

Alternator – an electric generator that produces alternating current. It takes over the battery when the engine is running. It also recharges the battery and supplies power to all electrical components.

Battery – it is the component that supplies electric energy to an automobile. It is the initial electric power that starts the car’s engine.

Carburetor – this car parts is responsible for mixing air and fuel in the proper ratio for burning in the engine’s combustion chambers. Most new cars do not have it because they have fuel injected engines.

Coolant reservoir – this particular part hold hot coolant that overflows from the radiator and draws back into the radiator as needed.

Distributor – distributes high voltage electricity to the spark plugs one at time.
Exhaust manifold – set of pipes dedicated for each cylinder that conducts exhaust away from cylinders.

Fuel injection system – sprays controlled amount of fuel directly into the intake manifold or combustion chambers. This results in a perfect air to fuel ration that involves vehicle fuel economy.
